The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the killing of one person and the abduction of a woman with her one-year-old baby in Jibia local government area of the State.
The Command’s spokesman, Gambo Isah, who confirmed the incident, told newsmen in Katsina that the bandits also kidnapped one other person. He added that the gunmen attacked the town on Sunday on motorcycles.
According to the spokesman, the bandits shot sporadically, as a result of which, one Ibrahim Usman, was shot dead.
He also revealed that the gunmen went straight to the house of Tasiu Waliyi, kidnapped his wife, her one-year-old baby and other person in the house, Abu-Abu, and took them away.
Isah said the Operation Puff Adder, Sharan Daji and Special
Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS teams are presently searching the forest with a view
to rescue the victims.
