About twenty persons have been reported killed and several others injured in a fresh attack by unknown gunmen in Angwan-Aku community, in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A resident said the attack was launched on Monday morning by gunmen, allegedly dressed in military uniform and armed with AK47 rifles, machetes and sticks. He said they stormed the village, shooting sporadically.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, said the Police arrived in the village in eight Hilux vans after the bandits had ran into the bush, but that instead of pursuing the bandits, they just turned back.
A former President of the Adara Development Association Danladi Yarima, confirmed the attack, describing it as unfortunate and blamed it on the government’s handling of the security situation in the state.
The Kaduna State Police Command is yet to confirm the incident.
