Report says armed men were repelled by the military on Monday to attack on residents of Zango Urban District of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
A resident of Zango town, Isa Tela said the people were going about their activities after Isha’i prayer, when the gunshots started around the town’s filling station before they surrounded the town from all angles, the military intervened and dispersed them.
However, Kaduna State Police Command is yet to comment on the incident.
In a similar incident, The Niger State Government says Boko Haram terrorists have taken over five communities in Rafi and Shiroto Local Government Areas of the state.
Secretary to the State Government Ahmed Matane explained that the insurgents are fully in charge in Hanawanka, Madaka, in Rafi local government area and Kurebe, Gussau, Farina Kuka in Shiroro local government area forcing the villagers to migrate to safer grounds.
He said the terrorists move freely in the affected areas, wielding sophisticated and menacing weapons, adding that the state has already notified security agencies for proper urgent security measures.
