Nigeria Police Denies Disregard For Court Order

The Niger State Police has rescued seven commuters kidnapped on Tegina-Zungeru Road, in Rafi Local Government Area of the State.

Spokesman of the Command DSP Wasiu Abiodun said the incident happened on Saturday but that the victims were rescued by a combined team of police and army.

He added that Police tactical team in collaboration with the army were immediately mobilised to the scene, where the assailants were engaged in a gun battle, while the victims were rescued and that the commuters to continue their journey.

Abiodun explained that the Police also foiled a planned attack by bandits on Goto-Rishi Village in Kaffin-Koro Paikoro local government area, adding that the one AK-47 rifle with three live ammunition and two Honda motorcycles were recovered from the scene.
