The Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF is meeting in Abuja ahead of the 97th National Economic Council NEC meeting to brainstorm on six hundred and forty one billion naira advanced to thirty five states as budget support facility.
The Governors are meeting for the first time under the chairmanship of Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State after the decision by the Federal Government to recover the bailout funds advanced to thirty five states.
The Federal Government gave the provisional budget support facility through the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN in 2017 to enable the states meet their financial requirements to civil servants and pensioners.
The money was provided at nine per cent interest with a grace period of two years.
