Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has applauded religious leaders for their unrelenting support and prayers for the peace and general well-being of the country.
Bagudu made the commendation when he met with clerics from the State Council of Ulama and Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in Birnin-Kebbi. He however urged the clerics to sustain the prayers in view of the current security challenges in the country.
The Governor also stressed the willingness of his administration to continue to keep the state safe and secured by supporting security agencies across the state.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of Council of Ulama, Abdul-Rahman Jega and the state CAN Chairman, Ayuba Kanta, thanked the Governor for the opportunity to meet and interact with them on varying issues concerning the State.
They also pledged to continue to offer prayers for the sustainable peace and security in the state, as well as support government’s proactive efforts towards overcoming the challenges.
