The National Bureau of Statistics NBS, says consumers paid 195.29 naira for a litre of Premium Motor Spirit on the average in October 2022.
It stated in its “Premium Motor Spirit Price Watch” for October 2022 that the average price was a 17.93 per cent increase over the 165.60 naira paid in October 2021.
The NBS said on state profile analysis, Kebbi state paid the highest average retail price for petrol at 211.00 naira in September 2022, followed by Kano at 210.14 naira and Gombe at 210.00 naira.
Conversely, the report said consumers in Sokoto State paid the lowest average retail price for petrol at 185.00 naira, followed by Taraba at 185.42 naira and Abia at 186.56 naira.
