Aston Villa have announced the surprise signing of striker Danny
Ings from Southampton .
Ings, 29, netted 14 goals last season for both club and country and has
become Villa’s latest arrival this summer, signing a three-year deal with
the transfer fee around £30million.
With talisman Jack Grealish on the cusp of joining Manchester City ,
Villa have enjoyed a busy window, and Dean Smith has hailed the
swoop for Ings.
Ings dazzled during his spell at St Mary’s, having scored 46 goals in 100
appearances for Southampton after joining from Liverpool in
2018. However, with just one more year left on his contract, Ings has
opted to move on to Villa for an undisclosed fee instead of renewing.
