
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army to strengthen existing collaborations with relevant stakeholders to improve security in the country.
Yahaya stated this when he visited Governor Inuwa Yahaya, in Gombe.
He said that the task of ensuring security was a collective effort of all stakeholders.
According to him, the army will continue to improve, synergise with other security agencies and stakeholders in that regard to ensure the safety of everyone.
Yahaya who said he was on operational visit to formations and units in Gombe State to interact with officers of the 301 Artillery Regiment, urged residents to support officers with useful information towards curbing crime.
Responding, Yahaya said the army’s presence provided residents of the state with sense of belonging and assurance of safety.
Yahaya commended the army for their sacrificial role in ensuring peace in the country, adding that more would only be achieved through collaborative measures and synergy.
