Anambra Guber Poll: INEC Declares Soludo Of APGA Winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA candidate Chukwuma Soludo as winner of November 6 Governorship election in Anambra state.

Soludo scored 112,229 votes to defeat his closest contender Valentine Ozigbo of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP who got 53,807 to emerge second and Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate scored a total of 43,285 votes to emerge the third position.

Returning Officer for 2021 Anambra Governorship election Florence Obi, announced this in the early hours of Wednesday at INEC headquarters, Awka.

It would be recalled that the commission suspended collation of results late Sunday night and declared the exercise inconclusive following non conduct of election in Ihiala local Government area. INEC however, fixed Tuesday November 9 for supplementary election in Ihiala.

The Returning Officer, while announcing the final result, noted that after adding up the results collated from Ihiala, Soludo continued his lead in the election. She added that the APGA candidate won in 19 out of the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.
