Africa Media Development Foundation AMDF, has sensitised the residents of Kajuru and Mekera communities in Kaduna South Local Government Area on fact -checking misinformation.
Executive Director of AMDF, Sekyen Dadik, made this known at the beginning of a one-month advocacy activities to communities against misinformation in Kaduna.
According to her, misinformation is capable of misleading with possible consequences of causing conflict, misunderstanding in society.
She emphasized that misinformation hindered growth, development, and urging, people should avoid them say, them say in order to foster togetherness.
Dadik, who emphasized on the spread of misinformation, stressed the need for people to investigate and verify the genuineness of such information to avoid misleading the people.
On his part, the AMDF Programme Manager, Benjamin Maigari, said the communities were selected for the project due to their heterogeneous settings.
