The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has allayed fears that the May 29 presidential inauguration may be disrupted.

The IG, who addressed newsmen in Abuja on Monday also assured that the inauguration date remained sacrosanct.

He however warned political parties trying to cause trouble ahead of the ceremony to desist from doing so.

Baba also noted that the police force would explore every possible means alongside other security outfits to defend democracy.

According to him, the beauty of democracy lies not just in the freedom of the citizens to freely exercise their franchise within the electoral cycle.

He added that aggrieved political actors have the right to submit grievances on the electoral outcome to the judicial process for consideration.
