The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU says industrial harmony in public universities is no longer guarantee over alleged Federal Government’s failure to honour all agreements reached.

ASUU also accused the Government of shunning the Memorandum of Actions, MoAs and Memorandum of Understanding, MoUs it agreed with ASUU.

The Abuja Zonal Coordinator of the Union Salahu Lawal, who announced this during a news conference in Gwagwalada on Tuesday, hinted of another looming strike action across the country. The zone comprised Federal University of Lafia; Federal University of Technology, Minna; Nasarawa State University, Keffi; Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai; and the University of Abuja.

He explained that Nigerians, especially parents with children in public universities, should hold government responsible for the consequences that might arise from the non-implementation of the agreements.

Lawal however noted that the government, as it has always done, again defaulted on its pledge to ASUU and the nation, thereby leading to another industrial action in the universities.
