The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has challenged members of the National Assembly for earning between 1.5 million naira and 1.3 million naira monthly to the detriment of Professors with 416,000 naira monthly take-home.

ASUU however said there is no going back on its planned industrial action unless the government meets with its demands.

Zonal Coordinator of ASUU, Lagos Zone Adelaja Odukoya made the unions position known, while addressing reporters at the end of the zonal meeting of the union held at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, FUNAAB, Ogun State.

Odukoya, supported by the branch chairmen, criticized Senators and House of Representatives members over jumbo pay while noting that academic members are being insolvent by the federal government.
