On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Ezenwo NyesomWike, administered the oath of office to the coordinator of the FCT Satellite Town Development Department (STDD), Hon. Abdulkadir Zulkiflu. The brief swearing-in ceremony was conducted by the Chief Judge of the FCT, represented by Hon. Justice C. O Agashieze. During this significant occasion, the FCT Minister congratulated the newly appointed Coordinator STDD, emphasizing that it was an opportunity to contribute to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President within the FCT.
The Minister urged the Coordinator not to be swayed by the trappings of office but to remain steadfast in fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to him by the President. He stated, “See it as Mr. President finds you worthy to contribute at this point in national development, particularly as regards the Federal Capital Territory Administration”.
Additionally, the FCT Minister revealed that he had uncovered substantial malfeasance in the cleaning contracts for the FCT satellite towns. The government had been paying for services not rendered. In response, he directed the area council chairmen to thoroughly vet the contracts before authorizing payments.
