The House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources Downstream has assured that the April 2023 completion of repairs on the 1.5 billion dollars Port Harcourt refinery is attainable. This is coming as the committee challenged all stakeholders to give their maximum support to ensure that the rehabilitation continues unobstructed.
Chairman of Committee Abdullahi Gaya announced this during the committee’s visit to the Port Harcourt Refinery Company in Eleme, Rivers State, as part of its oversight function on Tuesday.
It was reported that the Committee carried out oversight with a thorough probe on turnaround maintenance, where views, opinions of the operators based on their observations and experiences were sought to discover all the refinery with the view of providing a lasting solution to the problem.
Also, the Managing Director of the Port Harcourt refinery Ahmed Dikko while briefing journalists said a lot of grounds have so far been covered, pointing out that the timeline was feasible.
