The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN says the hike in electricity tariff and cooking gas prices will worsen the plight of citizens.

It also noted that Nigerians have enough on their hands with heightened insecurity, calling on government to initiate an all-inclusive security negotiation with stakeholders towards finding solutions to the security challenges.

CAN General Secretary Joseph Daramola in a communiqué tasked security agencies to respond quickly to distress calls from citizens and also commended the timely rescue of kidnapped University of Abuja students.

The apex Christian body, while commenting on the 2023 elections encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of the continuous voter registration, CVR exercise of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to prepare their voters’ cards for elections.

CAN however, expressed concern over the extortion of returning Nigerians at the country’s airports and asked the federal government to provide an efficient payment scheme.
