Challenges: Federal Government Reiterates Commitment To Improve Security Situation

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to improve the security of all citizens in the country with a view to reducing the present   security challenges bedeviling the country.

Director of Press, Ministry of Interior Blessing Lere-Adams, announced this in a statement in Abuja.

She added that the Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, made this known at the inauguration of the committee to study the Recommendations and Implementation Strategies on Strengthening Internal Security Framework and Community Policing in Nigeria.

The statement also noted the journey to the event began with the Senior Executive Course, SEC 40, 2018  of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, on Strengthening Internal Security Framework and Community Policing in Nigeria.

The Minister said the committee observed that the absence of a National Security Policy and Strategy document and a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework on internal security has negatively affected the operations of the internal security agencies in the country.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior Shuaib Belgore appreciated Aregbesola and NIPSS for the report and documents on Monitoring and Evaluation Framework on Internal Security.
