Okada Ban: Kaduna Residents Face Hard Times Move Around

Kaduna State Government’s ban on the operations of Okada and private motorcycles has generated complains, as a result of the hardship and other difficulties to move around.

It would be recalled that the resolution of the state government to ban motorcycles was to defeat the activities of bandits in the state.

The ban which has now entered the third day showed that, many residents who prefer Okada to beat traffic while going to work and their businesses have resorted to trekking.

Reports say security agencies especially, Police, KADVIS and Vigilante Operators have been deployed to impound machines whose owners have disobeyed the order, to arrest and prosecute the offenders.

It added that thousands of motorcycles have been impounded by the security agencies.

However, some residents have called on the government to lift the ban in totality citing the economy difficulties or consider essential workers.
