At least seven pastors have been arrested for violating the ban on public gatherings and other forms of assembly in the Ebonyi state.
Commissioner for Border Peace and Internal Security, Stanley Okoro Emegha, said the arrests would serve as deterrent against further disobedience to the order.
The state government banned all forms of gathering of over 50 persons other than essential service centres, in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Also in Kaduna, security agents arrested two pastors for holding church services last Sunday in violation of the lockdown order.
A statement issued by Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said pastors Ifeanyi Ojonu and Giniki Okafor held church services, contrary to the ongoing curfew.
