The Federal Government is expected to soon commission the forty megawatts Kashimbilla hydropower plant, the Takum, Wukari transmission substations in Taraba state and other projects to boost national electricity grid.
Minister of Power, Sale Mamman confirmed this at an inspection tour to the plant along with the Minister of State, Goddy Agba and other dignitaries.
The Project Manager in the Ministry of Power, Ali-Dapshima Abubakar who shown them around the project sites said the Hydropower was upgraded from six to forty megawatts.
On his part, The Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN Usman Gur Mohammed noted that he was satisfied with the substation’s work. He said when power is evacuated from the plant; it would serve the Northeast, North-Central and the Southeast.
