The Committee constituted by Bauchi State government to investigate the non-possession of Bank Verification Number, BVN by government civil servants has uncovered about 590 dead workers on the State payroll.
The Committee chairman, Adamu Ibrahim Gumba, while addressing newsmen on the conclusion of the assignment, said it has given opportunities for the identified workers and pensioners to appear for verification, but that they failed to do so.
He added that the Panel has identified 8,508 pensioners and workers in active, explaining that they would receive October, November and December back-log salaries arrears.
He said that it discovered 596 dead workers who are still on the payroll of the government.
