2023 Polls: Defence Chief Cautions Politicians Against Violence, Bandits Kidnaped Many Zamfara

The Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor has cautioned politicians to shun violence, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Irabor gave the advice when he joined the Defence spokesman, Major General Benard Onyeuko, at a press briefing on the activities of the Armed Forces in Abuja

He also stressed that for anyone seeking elective position must do it within the ambit of the provisions of the law, as military will not stand aside and watch those who perpetrate violence without taking action against them.

The Defence Chief however assured Nigeria remains a nation that must live in peace, desire to live in peace, and citizens deserve to live in peace, adding that the military is working with the police and stand ready to give them all the necessary support for peaceful elections.

In another development, Terrorist have kidnapped many villagers during an attack on Zurmi town of Zamfara State. They launched the attack on Thursday evening, shooting sporadically before have abducting many residents.
