The Kaduna State Government has earmarked over 107.72 billion naira to the education sector in its 2023 Budget proposals before the State Assembly for consideration.
It was gathered that the allocation represents 29.1 percent of the total budget of 370.3 billion naira proposed for the 2023 fiscal year.
It also indicated that the Ministry for Education got 34.2 billion naira, made up of 13.28 billion naira recurrent expenditure and 20.96 billion naira for capital expenditure.
The state Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB was allocated 45.64 billion naira with a capital expenditure of 40.22 billion naira, and recurrent expenditure of 5.42 billion naira.
Also, Kaduna State University, KASU had 18.59 billion naira, made up of 5.15 billion naira for recurrent expenditure and 13.44 billion naira for capital expenditure.
On its part, the State Scholarship and Loans Board was earmarked 2.69 billion naira, of which 42.37 million naira was allocated for recurrent expenditure and 2.65 billion naira for capital expenditure.
In the same vein, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria got 3.03 billion naira, with recurrent and capital expenditure constituting 1.81 billion naira and 1.23 billion naira.
