The Kaduna State Government has earmarked 6.8 million naira for the procurement of HIV diagnostic kits and consumables in 2022. This is contained in the budget of 278.6 billion signed by Governor Nasir El- Rufai.
The document showed that out of the 20.3 million naira allocated to the
State AIDS Control Agency, KADSACA for capital expenditure, 3.0
million naira was for the procurement of HIV diagnostic kits and 3.8
million naira of HIV consumables.
Similarly, the government planned to spend 3.8 million naira on
condoms, 3.3 million naira on hepatitis-B test strips, and 2.6 million
naira on methadone.
Also, 828,000 naira was allocated for venereal disease research
laboratory test, 842,400 naira for single use syringe and 308,700 naira
for procurement of antibiotics for Sexually Transmitted Infections, STI.
The government equally earmarked 385,480 naira for behavioural
change communication for targeted populations.
