Some governorship candidates in the 2019 elections, have decided to press their cases further to the Appeal Court after the verdicts of the election petition tribunals did not go in their favour
Some candidates who contested in the governorship polls had challenged the outcomes of the polls at the tribunals with most judgments delivered.
It was learnt that the petitioners are heading to the Appeal Court to contest the judgements of the tribunals.
In Kaduna, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru is set to appeal the ruling of the tribunal which favoured the state Governor, Nasir el-Rufai.
Also in Katsina, Yakubu Lado Danmarke the People’s Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, through his lawyer, has shown interest to challenge the result of the tribunal at the Appeal Court.
The candidate of Allied Peoples Movement’s, APM governorship candidate in the 2019 election in Ogun State, Adekunle Akinlade, has expressed hope in an appeal against the election petitions tribunal which dismissed his petition against Governor Dapo Abiodun’s victory among others.
