The Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare says there will be a presidential reception for the athletes that represented Nigeria at the recent African Games held in Morocco.
Dare announced this while briefing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
The Minister said that the nation’s female and male basketball teams had also creditably acquitted themselves and would also be given presidential reception, adding that the reception would be at a yet to be fixed date.
The Team Nigeria came second on the table at the 2019 African Games in Morocco with one hundred and twenty seven medals behind Egypt which topped the table with two hundred and seventy three medals.
Nigeria came second on medals table right after Egypt; Nigeria had 46 Gold medals, 33 silver medals, 48 bronze medals a total of 127 medals as against that of Egypt that had 273 medals.
