South Sudan lawmakers stormed out of a budget presentation for 2019/2020 financial year on Thursday, citing frustrations over non-payment of salaries of civil servants and soldiers.

The lawmakers staged the walk-out while the minister of finance was presenting the budget.

They said the country’s army is cutting down trees to make a living, it is almost one year since foreign missions were paid.

One of the protesting lawmakers shouted that teachers are not being paid,so why should they present a new budget while salaries are not being paid,”
