Meanwhile, The President-elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu has called by South – East Unity Movement not to allow himself to be dragged into counterproductive and self-conflicts over the National Assembly Leadership.

In a statement signed by its Spokesperson, Godwish Kuruma Obi and made available to news men on Monday in Abuja, The group urged the President elect to take the part of honour by maintaining neutrality and insisting on democratic processes.

The Movement expressed worries over the direction the country is being pushed by some politicians over the issue of selection of leaders and officers of the 10th National Assembly, describing the development as unfortunate as well as noting that  those who are supposed to be distinguished gentlemen and women , trusted with mandates by their constituencies would find it difficult to form leadership for themselves without unnecessary interference by vested interests.

They therefore urged Politicians to tread with caution and  play by the rules, with fairness to all sections of the country, as well as cautioned members of the APC National Working Committee, NWC, against meddling with the leadership affairs saddled with the constitutionally and democratically Independent autonomous legislative arm of government.
