Former International, Ike Shorunmu and other sports supporters have hailed the Super Eagles for securing their first victory in the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON in Egypt.
They spoke in separate interviews in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital that the victory was well deserved.
Shorunmu said that the victory of the Eagles was a good start for the national team, urging them to put more efforts in winning other matches as en route the finals of the competition.
Also speaking, the Oyo State Chairman of Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria, SWAN Niyi Alebiosu described the Super Eagles’ victory over Burundi as a welcome development.
The Chairman of Oyo State Football Association, Oba James Odeniran, hailed the Super Eagles for securing a victory in their first AFCON match against Burundi.
