Troops of Operation Harbin Kunama-three fighting banditry in Zamfara state have killed six suspected gunmen in various clearance operations in some villages in the state and arrested eighteen of their informants, including a village head.
The Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, who confirmed this in a statement, said the operations in which the bandits were neutralised took place on Saturday in Kirsa and Sunke villages in Anka as well as in Doka and Mutu villages in Gusau Local Government Areas of the state.
Musa quoted the Force Commander Major General Hakeem Otiki as restating the resolve of troops to tackle banditry and other forms of criminality in Zamfara and surrounding states.
