The Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu reiterates the federal government’s commitment to support and encourage inventions in the country.
Onu said this during the presentation of fire proof crystal ceiling board made of fiber glass and raisin by an inventor, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The minister said the ministry is devoted, dedicated and working hard to encourage Nigerians who are innovating products and services that can help create jobs and grow the country’s Gross Domestic Products GDP.
He further assured of the ministry’s commitment to ensure that inventors benefit from their efforts as a way of attracting others to go into inventions.
Onu, however, emphasised that the ministry’s support to inventors in terms of finances or provision of equipment to boost research and innovations would be competitive.
He urged the organised private sector to work with the inventor of the fibre glass ceiling board with a view to commercialising it.
