The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has on Sunday made a seizure of a 40-foot gas tanker which was intercepted along the Abuja-Abaji highway.
According to a statement made by the NDLEA media director, Femi Babafemi, it was revealed that the 40-foot tanker contained 511 sacks of cannabis weighing 4,572kg.
Reports has it that the consignment which was loaded in Ondo State was destined for Abuja for delivery and further distribution.
In another development, a middle-aged ex-convict facing trial for a previous drug offense was also arrested in Osun State in possession of illicit substances, including cocaine, cannabis, Rohypnol, and tramadol tablets.
Mr. Babafemi has said that, yet another suspect named Friday Ibochi was nabbed at an NDLEA checkpoint, at Aloma junction Otukpo in Benue State with 66 blocks of cannabis weighing around 33kg.
