The airlift of pilgrims from mecca to abuja began on Friday 7th July, 2023.
The director of FCT pilgrims welfare board malam abubakar adamu evuti disclosed this while addressing FCT pilgrims at mecca. Evuti said all arrangements have been completed by the board for their airlift back home after the completion of the hajj exercise. He said the board has commenced the distribution of 32kg bags to the pilgrims to enable them pack their belongings in preparation for the home return journey.
He further stated that every pilgrim is entitled to 2 bags, 32kg check in luggage and 8kg hand luggage. he advised those with excess luggage to patronize companies approved by the national hajj commission to handle their luggage.
He urged the pilgrims to maximize the advantage of being in the holy land to perform and complete their ibada while waiting for their turn to return home.
