Former Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai says he left 80.60 billion naira local and 577.32 million dollars foreign debts for the new Governor, Uba Sani.
El-Rufai, in his farewell speech also stated that 5 billion naira was left in the Treasury Single Account, TSA, and 2.05 million dollars in domiciliary account.
He however, maintained that as at the last financial year, the state government had the following liabilities: domestic debt of 64.54 billion naira, other contingent liabilities of 16 billion naira and foreign debts of 577.32 million dollars.
Also, in Plateau state, Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, said he inherited over 200 billion naira debt burden from the former State Governor, Simon Lalong.
The new Governor also expressed the concern during his inauguration at the Jos Wrang Pam township stadium.
Mutfwang said his administration had resolved and resolute in their desire for a new Plateau.
