The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, have tackled the Zamfara State government over the non-
implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage.
They spoke after a closed-door meeting that lasted for several hours,
during which they expressed dismay over the State government’s snail
speed and lack of political will towards implementing the N30,000
minimum wage.
This was contained in a press statement jointly signed and issued to
newsmen in Gusau, the State capital by the Acting secretary of the State
NLC, Comrade Ahmed Abubakar and the TUC Secretary, Comrade Sani
Mohammed Sani Kwotorkwoshi.
The statement noted that the leaders of the two labour centres made it
categorically clear and known to the government’s representatives that
the implementation of the N30,000 must be possible because it has since
been approved constitutionally.
