The Federal Government has allocated 650 million naira as counterpart funding for the Mambilla Power Project in the 2022 budget and voted earmarked 1.6 billion naira for vehicles in the Presidency.
This is coming as the Ministry of Power has a 301 billion naira budget for next year, higher than the 204 billion naira in 2021.
Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed in her , 2022 budget presentation, highlighted that they are part of the selected projects in the budget tagged, ‘Investing for a resilient future: Critical infrastructure and human capital.
She noted that among the delayed projects, the Mambilla project will consume 650 million naira for counterpart funding, way leave consultancy, and survey fees, This is in spite over ten billion naira spent on this project in the last six years without the project taking off.
