Emergency Meeting: NUJ 7th Triennial Delegates Conference To Hold In Umuahia – NEC

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ National Credentials Committee says the 7th Triennial Delegates Conference 2021 will still hold in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

This is coming following the National Executive Council, NEC of the Union resolution from its virtual Emergency Meeting of 3rd October.

In a press statement jointly signed by NUJ Chairman, Credentials Committee Garba Muhammad and Secretary, of the Committee Victor Ndukwe, the NEC decided that arrival should be on Wednesday, 6th October, while the elections is expected to hold on Thursday 7th October.

The statement added that meeting was attended by 72 members and after a presentation by the National President Chris Isiguzo and the Chairman, Electoral Committee, Garba Muhammad, a motion was moved by Salihu Alkali, Chairman Nasarawa State Council for the 7th Triennial Delegates Conference to hold as planned.

It would be recalled that the emergency meeting of the Union according to a statement issued by the National Secretary of the union Shuaibu Usman Leman was convened online to douse tension occasioned by a alleged court action and to further chart a way forward as it relates to the 7th Triennial Delegates Conference in Umuahia.
