The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Salasi Musa has been declared winner of the Chikun Local Government Chairmanship election in Kaduna state.
The Returning Officer Sanusi Gambo, who announced the results of the election on Monday, said Salasi Musa of the PDP polled 19,402 votes to beat Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC Samaila Leeman, who got 14,829 votes.
He also added that the PDP also won eight of the 12 councillorship seats, and the ruling APC won four.
It would be recalled that the Kaduna State independent National Electoral Commission, KAD-SIECOM, had initially announced September 4, for the polls, but was rearranged for Saturday, September . 25, citing security reasons.
