The Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama has called on Nigerians to leave out their religious values and speak against corruption at all times.

The Archbishop who gave the advice in an interview after he celebrated Mass, at Saint  Charles Lwanga Parish, Apo, urging Christians in politics to allow the light of Christ shine through them, saying “they are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

He added that it is unfortunately that people limited their religion to attending Church and Mosques without exhibiting in their daily activities the values of the gospels preached in holy books Bible and Qur’an.

Earlier in his sermon, Kaigama challenges Nigerians to speak against corruption, politics without morality and other ungodly behaviours that would make the country a better place.

The cleric cited the example of Prophet Jeremiah who gave prophetic message of doom to his citizens at a time when Jerusalem was facing crisis.

He said that Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Mathew 10:31 urged Christians to speak the truth, even in the face of fierce opposition and persecution.
