The Christian Association of Nigeria CAN has called on Christian faithful open food banks in churches so that privileged individuals and groups can bring their contributions their to be distributed to those who have nothing to eat.
The call is contained in a statement by CAN chairman, Kaduna State chapter Reverend John Joseph Hayab.
He said that would make Christians truly be their brothers’ keepers at this trying moment when many in our midst hardly have something to eat or feed their families.
Hayab said the call is in obedience to scripture in Acts 4:32-35 where all the believers then were one in heart and mind, having everything in common and bringing from their blessings to the Church food bank so that there should be no one that is hungry.
He said this spirit should be seen practically demonstrated in our lives, Churches and community at this critical time.
