The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has detain Head Finance, Niger Delta Power Holding Company, NDPHC Marvel Emefiele, and head compensation Eze M C Odigbo, following their alleged connection in false payment and diversion of about eight hundred and fifty million naira compensation to communities where the machineries of the power project were sited.
Findings showed that approval was granted for the payment of eighty four billion naira to the communities where transmission lines of the power project are meant to be laid.
Emefiele was said to have approved the payment of eight hundred and fifty million naira as the company’s Head of Finance, while Odigbo reportedly effected the compensation to the communities, as they are being quizzed over the matter.
Managing Director of Pivot Engineering, Richard Ayibiowu is also being detained over alleged payment of three hundred and fifty million naira to the communities.
