The General Officer Commanding of the 82 Division, Nigerian Army, Major-General Abubakar Maikobi has charged troops under the Division to be physically and mentally ready for deployment.
Maikobi gave the charge while officially declaring open the 2019 Inter-Brigade Combat Proficiency Competition for formations in the division at the 82 Division Garrison in Enugu on Monday.
The GOC, who was represented by the Chief of Staff of the Division, Major-General Clement Apere, noted that the competition was meant to sharpen efficiency and capabilities of junior commanders in operations.
He noted that the Nigerian Army remained committed to fighting insurgency and other forms of criminality bedevilling the country.
The GOC, however, urged participants to be agents of positive change during the competition, adding that they must display strict discipline.
