The Federal Government has donated farming inputs and empowerment tools worth millions of naira to over 6,000 flood victims in Zamfara.

The items were provided through the National Food Council on Security and Agricultural Intervention on Flood Victims under the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries in Gusau, the leader of the federal government’s delegation, Flight Lieutenant Umar Sani said the donation was provided to 6,268 victims of 2017 and 2018 flood disasters across the eight local government areas of the state.

According to him, the affected local government areas are: Anka, Bungudu, Gusau, Gummi, Kaura-Namoda, Maru, Talata-Mafara and Tsafe.

Sani said that the beneficiaries comprised farmers and women who lost their farm produce and other valuables to flood.

He said the gesture was aimed to support the victims cushion the effect of the flood.
