Symposium; FG Commited To Addressing Emerging Challenges Of TSA, Pension Reforms

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to address the emerging challenges of Treasury Single Account, TSA; Pension Reforms and other reforms toward repositioning the public service.

Director General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms Ibrahim-Dasuki Arabi, stated this while presenting a paper entitled, ”Dissecting Public Service Reforms”, at a symposium organized by the Faculty of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, Kaduna state.

The Symposium has as its theme “Dissecting the Nigeria Public Service Institution: Leadership, Governance and Service Delivery (Past, Present and Future).”

He noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated a committee which the bureau is heading, to look at the reforms initiatives on pension with a view to offering solution to emerging challenges of pension reforms.

In came vein, the Permanent Secretary, Human Resources and Staff Development, National Assembly, Suraj Oladini, presented a paper entitled, “Dissecting National Assembly; Structure Functions and Service Delivery.” He noted that Nigeria had the capacity to maintain two chambers at the National Assembly and urged members to deploy merit in the appointment of legislative aides.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of the University Kabiru Bala said the symposium was one of the activities designed to revive the culture of intellectual discourse in the university.
