The immediate past Attorney General of the Federation, AGF and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN has said that under his watch the country’s recovery account rose from nineteen billion naira to two hundred and ninety seven billion naira.
Malami, who made this known at his handover ceremony in Abuja, said the nineteen billion naira was the balance as of May 29th, 2015, when the President Buhari government took over power.
He said the ministry also led an increase local recovery of over fifty nine billion naira, three hundred and eight five million dollars, and an addition of more than seven hundred and seventy nine million naira.
Malami added that he led Nigerian negotiations for the return of over three hundred and twenty two million dollars Abacha loot with Switzerland and the World Bank, and the expected five hundred million dollars from the USA, Island of Jersey and France.
