Bayelsa State has recorded an outbreak of cholera epidemic as five persons have been confirmed dead from the disease in Ofoni in the Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.
Pabara Newton-Igwele, the Commissioner for Health, made this known
while briefing journalists after the 59th State Executive Council meeting
in the Government House, Yenagoa.
According to him, the five victims were among 22 enlisted cases of the
cholera epidemic.
Newton-Igwele said the government had dispatched the State Rapid
