The Federal Government is set to release over 174-million-naira to 28 tertiary institutions for the purchase of furniture, books and Information Communication Technology, ICT equipment.
In a document prepared by the Education Support Services of through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, it said the fund had earlier disbursed the sum of 1.6 billion naira to 44 institutions for the purchase of the same resources.
It was also gathered that the final tranche of disbursement as indicated by the TETFund, the sum of 46.5 million naira will be disbursed to five universities; 34.5 million naira to seven Polytechnics, while 93 million naira will be disbursed to 16 Colleges of Education.
The agency also noted that to facilitate the implementation of Higher Education Book Development Programme, it constituted a group TETFund Board, with a membership of 99 academics under the chairmanship of Charles Aworh.
