The Nigerian Army has referred the report alleging that some Nigerian villages were attacked by Cameroonian, Ambazonian separatists on Sunday.

Director, Army Public Relations Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, who debunked the claim in a statement in Abuja, said the Nigerian troops deployed at Danare received information on Sunday morning about the said attack contrary to the ‘misinformation’.

He also explained that the troops immediately mobilised to Bashu community, which was allegedly under attack and on arrival, it was discovered no external incursion was recorded, rather the separatists attacked Obonyi 2 and Njasha, both of which are communities located in the Republic of Cameroon.

Nwachukwu however advised members of the public not to panic by disregarding the said information.
