Executive Chairman, National Salaries, Incomes and Wages
Commission Richard Egbule, has said the commission had not revised
the supplementary allowances.
Egbule, who disclosed this in a statement by Emma Njoku, the Chief
Press Secretary of the commission in Abuja, said any indication of such
was false.
Egbule said there was a fake circular in circulation alleging that the
supplementary allowance payable to security personnel attached to
political, public and judicial office holders had been reviewed.
According to the statement, the fake circular alleged that the commission
has revised the supplementary from N50,000 to N120,000 per month for
officers and from N30,000 to N100,000 per month for other ranks.
He added that the commission’s circular dated November 1, 2017, which
conveyed government’s approval for the payment of supplementary
allowance of N50, 000 per month for officers and N30,000 per month
for other ranks of security personnel, had not been revised.
He called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies to disregard the fake
circular and any payments already made or intended to be made.
